Magnesium wheels run much cooler compared with their aluminium cousins, which will result in less tyre wearing, more stable tyre performance throughout the race and less heat conduction to the rear axle and the brake system. Not only that the lower weight in itself is nice, but when reduced from rolling parts, it also means better engine performance.
